ROB WEINGARTNER

HEAD COACH/ GENERAL MANAGER

Rob is entering his 7th year as the head coach of the Wichita Junior Thunder and will add General Manger to his list of duties with the organization. Weingartner stated, “I will focus on lowering team fees for players and focus on corporate Sponsorships/ sales along with season ticket sales to offset the fees that were lowered from $8750 to $6800. I strongly feel the lowered fees will attract a broader range of players and help us get back to the high level we experienced during the 2016-17 season.” A level 4 USA Hockey Certified Coach, Rob brings over 30 years of hockey experience to the Wichita Jr. Thunder.  Rob was an Assistant Coach for the Wichita Thunder (CHL) from 2005 to 2007 where he was name Head Coach for the remainder of the 2007-08 season.  He had an 8-year professional career as a player in the CHL, ECHL, IHL and had a couple of try-outs at the NHL Level.  Rob has also helped develop the youth hockey programs in Wichita and has taught hockey camps throughout his career.

KEVIN ST. PIERRE

ASSISTANT COACH/ GOALIE COACH/ ASSISTANT GM

Kevin had a solid professional career, playing 16 years in 7 different leagues including two championships, one with Shreveport in the WPHL and one with Nottingham in the EIHL. Originally from Sherbrooke, QC, Kevin won 40 plus games 3 times in his career, won Goaltender of the Year in 97-98 and had a try-out with the Nashville Predators of the NHL. Along with his administrative duties, Kevin will also help on the bench and with Goaltenders.As well as being named “most Outstanding Goaltender in the WPHL during the 97-98 season.

SEAN O'REILLY

ASSISTANT COACH

Sean played five years in the Central Hockey League all for the Wichita Thunder, from 1997 through 2002. O’Reilly was an all around defenseman who scored 27 goals and had 142 assists for a total of 169 points in 311 games played. He also managed 926 penalty minutes in that time earning his nick name “The Junk Yard Dog”. Sean played juniors in the OHL and won a Championship while playing for Acadia in Canadian University. Sean is also the President of the Youth Hockey in Wichita.
